The Middle East is a region where automobile is king and fuel is cheap, typically leaving little reward to find more environmentally-friendly ways of moving around.
But this year, as demonstrations across the Middle East have risen the rate of oil, the problem of discovering alternative sources of fuel has actually entered into sharp focus.
In a region that has one of the highest carbon footprints on the planet, one company is making the most of the growing pressure to discover alternatives to oil. It's established the Middle East's very first plan to recycle cooking oil into biodiesel. It's showing lucrative too, currently their client-list consists of McDonald's.
